The App Review Board (ARB) is the group that is ultimately responsible for governing the application review process of open-source gratis apps and how it interfaces with the rest of the Ubuntu community and governance systems.
The ARB has a number of rights and responsibilities, and is ultimately responsible for approving quality applications for availability to Ubuntu users. These include:
- Evaluating applications, including quality assessments, testing, and code review.
- Resolving disputes in applications as per the existing dispute resolution system.
- Regularly and when possible (i.e., monthly), sending reports or representatives to CC members to weigh in on issues of membership and to update the council on the ARB business.
